Some Important Things to Know About Florida Car Insurance

If you are shopping for Florida car insurance then there are a few important things you need to be aware of when getting your coverage. Florida state law requires you to have at a minimum a $10,000 limit on Property Damage Liability and Personal Injury Protection coverage. However, it is recommended that you get much more substantial coverage than this.

Interestingly, the average car insurance premiums for Floridians are almost 20% higher than the national average, and decreased in 2007 for the first time since 1999. In 2007 there was a rate decrease of up to almost 1%, but rates are forecasted to slightly rise again in 2008. So, do yourself a favor and shop around for car insurance in Florida before getting a policy.
