However, there are some things you can do to revamp your credit score, which can save you money on your premiums. Firstly, you need to get a copy of your credit report. There are companies that offer free credit reports, take advantage of this. Then check for any inaccuracies that are negatively affecting your score and try to get them corrected.

Another way to help your credit score is to start paying your bills on time. Late payments, however minor they may seem really kill your score. If you are behind on payments, talk to your creditors to see if they will allow you alter your payment plans to help get you caught up.

It will take some time and effort to repair your credit score, but once you do you’ll find it much easier to get affordable car insurance rates.
